Biography

Ana Stromberg is a contemporary artist, living and working
in Glencolumbkille on the west coast of Ireland.
She works in traditional oil and watercolour techniques,
but there is nothing traditional about the way she creates a piece of art.
Combining reality and fantasy she creates a vision entirely her own.

Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, to Gerd and Rolf Strömberg.
Ana studied art at Konstindustriskolan (Industrial School of Art) 1969-70,
and Hovedskou Academy of Free Art 1970-76 and 1985-88.

For several years in Sweden she worked as an Art teacher for ABF and
Vuxenskolan (Institutes for adult learning). After moving to Ireland in 1992 she
has worked as an Art teacher for V.E.C and several private employers.

While still in Sweden, she participated in numerous group exhibitions
including “West Coast Artists” at Konsthallen in 1976.
She had her first solo exhibition in 1988 at Gallery Impulse in Gothenburg.

In Ireland she cofounded “Cumann Ealiontori”, a local Artist Association,
with Deborah Stockdale and Conal McIntyre.
She has participated in various group exhibitions around Ireland,
as well as having four solo exhibitions.
